Oil Cooler Adapter - M50/M52/S50/S52

The oil filter used for this kit is the Mahle OX154/1D used on various E36, E46, E39, Z and X-series vehicles. You must use this specific filter as a replacement - other brands equivalent will not work. The OX154/1D filter is double-flanged with double o-rings to prevent oil bypass. Other makes of filter do not share this design, and will allow bypass of unfiltered oil. IMPORTANT: You must measure the center post in your factory filter housing, and ensure that it is NO LARGER THAN .960" Outside Diameter to use this adapter. The inside diameter of the mating tube in our adapter is a slightly tapered .965". BMW made the stock filter housings with some inconsistencies in the center post diameter, even though there were no part number changes. These adapters only fit oil filter housings with the bolt-through-top design. DOES NOT FIT M42/M44 Engines Shown with a cut-away of the factory oil filter housing.
